After weeks of promises from the met office that there was possible snow in store for Portchester (the first in a long time), it finally arrived!!!

Just before dinner started tonight, it started raining and snowing with no warning. Celeste was in her glee. She started looking around for her coat. “Have to go see snow daddy!” So everyone got bundled up in their winter gear and went out in the street. In 20-mins, the road had become a blanket of white which Celeste promptly christened with her boot prints. We had to promise to take her back outside to play, to get her to agree to eat dinner.

This time we went into our backyard. Celeste started gathering snow from the ground, making snowballs, and tossing them at us. She built a mini snowman and stomped the snow on the grass into submission. With the adults freezing, getting her to come inside was a task. She wanted to “watch” snow. Hopefully there will some fresh snow on the ground tomorrow morning when she wakes up, otherwise we’ll have one very disappointed kid on our hands.
