We closed on our house today. The closing was done via FedEx.

We don’t actually move to Texas until around April 22-23 so the house will be empty until then, but it’s now officially our house!!

Now comes the enormous task of planning our actually move. We are using a type of freight company. They would drop a container at our house for up to 48 hrs. We would have to load it ourselves and they would then drive it to TX where we would have to unload it ourselves. We will be hiring some temporary help for the loading and unloading. This approach is a cross between doing the move ourselves with a U-Haul truck and using a mover to actually drive the truck. We were looking into hiring full-service movers, but it’s a scary world out there, filled with all kinds of scammers.

We will be driving our two cars to TX so Kim is currently planning the route, including all the gas, food, and rest stops…down to the minute
