We finally made the move to Texas, arriving on Sunday April 23rd. We drove our two cars along with the kids over 2 1/2 days. To be honest, I wasn’t looking forward to the drive with the kids, but it turned out very well. Both kids were well behaved and made the drive a pleasant one. We were originally going to arrive on the Monday and limiting the total drviing time each day to 8 hours, but because the kids behaved so well, we decided to push it and drive 10 hours on the Sunday.

This week has been very hectic as we unpack and get everything in place. The cars now have TX license plates and Kim and I now have TX driver’s licenses. My home office (where I’ll be working at home from) is almost ready for me to get back to work on Monday. The rest of the house is coming along quite nicely. I’ve become an expert at installing blinds and I can do a window in just a few minutes :-). I still have I last window left in Brendan’s room, but I’ll get to that this weekend.

Once the house looks presentable, I’ll post some new pictures of the furnished interior.

The kids have already started playing in the backyard. Brendan has been great with the stairs. We were expecting to have to put up the gates, but he’s been going up and down like a trooper

The media room is almost ready. The projector has already been mounted on the ceiling along with the screen (which is 9′ wide!!!!). I just have to do some tidying up like organizing the DVDs on shelves and cleaning up the wiring.
