Cancer 1 Year Later
This past Sunday (August 20) marked the 1-year anniversary of Kim’s cancer diagnosis. She recently had her 1-year colonoscopy and we’re happy to report that she is cancer free and no polups were discovered. The doctor reported this as extremely good news and that Kim can actually have her next colonoscopy in 2 years time instead of next year.
During the past year, Kim underwent 6 months of chemotherapy. She didn’t lose any of her hair, but it did thin a bit. She had some periods of nausea, but she came through it with flying colors. There was even some doubt that she would have been able to do the last treatment as we were moving to Texas, but even that she managed to squeeze in just before we made the long drive.
There is no way that Kim and I could have coped with all this and the kids without the assistance of both our moms, each of whom put their own lives on hold for short periods and spent time living with us to help with the kids, so a huge THANK-YOU goes out to both of them. We also need to thank all that called with their support and prayers.
